We always want to point fingers at all the external goings-on that we don’t like, and blame all the politicians and secret rulers for our suffering, but looking within and pointing fingers at ourselves is anathema. That’s the only way out, though.
All the suffering in the world is a reflection of our collective consciousness that’s in the deepest sewers of immorality, ignorance, apathy, cowardice and self-loathing. We have so much unresolved trauma and abandonment issues that we don’t want to face and heal. We don’t want to acknowledge that we are just as much (and more so) at fault for the evils in the world as our oppressors. Those oppressors have power because we give it to them, whether consciously or unconsciously.
If we want to change what’s going on in the world (the plane of effects) we have to first change what’s going on in our hearts and minds (the plane of causality). We have so much beautiful potential as human beings. We could create paradise on earth. It wouldn’t be perfect, because perfection doesn’t exist in a physical realm… but it would be better. Instead, we’ve given up all responsibility for creating that world to someone else. We’ve allowed them to distract, deceive, divide and denigrate us. We’ve allowed them to ensnare and enslave us in exchange for illusions of comfort and safety.
We can blame them all we want, and point out their lies, and go down research rabbit-holes, and complain about it until the universe implodes, but nothing will change until WE change. We are the generators of our earthly experience. We are co-creators of it. That responsibility cannot be delegated – not rightfully or legitimately.
It’s important to know what’s happening on the plane of effects, but that’s not where change happens. Someone once described this mindset like this: trying to change things on that level is like trying to stop the Titanic from sinking by rearranging all the furniture. It doesn’t work that way. The ship is still going down. All change must happen within. We have to change course, and that’s an internal process. We have to get our egos out of the way, look in the mirror, and with sincere honesty ask ourselves:
-
How am I contributing to the suffering in the world?
-
What immoral actions am I taking that I need to stop?
-
What nonsense am I believing that is leading to those actions?
-
What traumas are causing me to attach to those belief systems?
-
Do I truly know the difference between right and wrong?
-
Do I truly want freedom?
-
What can I do to help create it?
-
What can I do to help others begin this same process of self-respect?
This process is called Shadow Work. It is part of the Great Work which is all about ending the condition of slavery, inner and outer. The Great Work begins within. We free ourselves from all the mental and emotional bondage that holds us back in consciousness and conscience, and then we begin the Work in the world through teaching, inspiring, mentoring and way-showing.
Shadow Work is ultimately an alchemical process of breaking down the calcified ego, purifying the spirit, and attaining enlightenment. There are four phases:
Nigredo (Blackening) – This is the darkness before the dawn, the descent into the abyss of the self; the dark night of the soul.
Albedo (Whitening) – This is the washing away of impurities – lies, traumas, false beliefs – to reveal a new level of consciousness, new insight and clarity.
Citrinitas (Yellowing) – This is where knowledge transmutes into wisdom, where the lessons are learned and integrated into one’s life.
Rubedo (Reddening) – This is the culmination of all the above, forming you into an enlightened being with a fully realized True Will or purpose. In other words, becoming the Philosopher’s Stone.
This process is required of all of us. If we truly want all the things we say we want – like peace, prosperity, freedom and order – we have to do that internal work. It’s the hardest work you’ll ever do, but it must be done to achieve all those things. This is the Law of Correspondence:
As Above, So Below;
As Within, So Without.
The Macrocosm reflects the Microcosm, and vice versa. As humans think in the aggregate, so shall be the quality of their collective experience on Earth. When we are bombarded with nonsense 24/7 – through politics, media, pop culture, religion, scientism, fear-mongering, and other psy-ops – it keeps us from doing that work. All of these things root us in the ego. The ego is a tool to help us survive as individual monads. It’s not who we are. It’s not supposed to take the wheel. Who we are is spirit / consciousness having a brief experience. We’re here to learn, evolve, and create beauty. We’re here to end the cycle of evil, and it begins within.
The Powers That Shouldn’t Be revel in that ego mindset, and they want all of us to do the same. That’s not the answer to the problem, that’s the causal factor. When we’re entrenched in ego-consciousness, we shut ourselves off from truth. We cannot utter the words “I was wrong” to save our lives. That’s why a conscious effort must be made to override that mindset and do the shadow work… fully and honestly.
If you don’t think you need to, that’s a red flag that you do. We ALL do. It’s not a one-and-done process, though. Sometimes it takes a lifetime. Maybe even a few lifetimes. But if you start now, in THIS life, you’ll start to manifest so much more positive change. And if most of humanity is doing it, we’ll change the world. We’ll get all the things we say we want. We’ll have taken back our power and accepted the responsibility for creating true freedom. Evil won’t stand a chance against a fully conscious and moral human race.
