'Cult & Occult pages 126-157'
The first official episode of 'Occult Kubrick'. A new podcast to house all of Sean McCann's previous and future works focused on the art of Stanley Kubrick. This episode investigates the book Cult & Occult edited by Pater Brooksmith. From pages 126 to 157, Sean reads from this occult encyclopedia which Stanley used to inform his understanding of the Occult which he portrays in his film Eyes Wide Shut. A wonderful book which many Kubrick researchers hold up on screen but never open up to show us the contents. Today we will see what is found inside. A general overview of the occult from Eliphas Levi to Tantra to the Nazis. While it is a cursory look at many topics, it is highly valuable to see the way these topics fit together. This helps to ground the concepts alluded to in Eyes Wide Shut into a more concrete framework. This is part 1 of the Cult & Occult series.
